I have always been drawn to the west and the myth of the West. I have had the pleasure of living in Colorado since 1974. As a young adult, I came out here to find my own way in life. Within days of my arrival, I knew I had found what I wanted, what I needed. Colorado's scenic landscapes may be world renown, but I needed to experience it first hand for the full impact. Neighboring states of Utah and New Mexico do add to the region's flavor.
My prior environmental career provided me a full exposure to our state's beauty and diverse regions. From the arid eastern plains, to the high mountain tundra, to the deep western slope Colorado River Canyons, Colorado and the region has much to offer.
I also find the emergence of a scene from the darkness of the night to be intriguing. As if the view observed has no origins, rather it hangs in the black of night. Painted by what light is shown on its surface, only illuminating value. I shoot pictures of Denver at night to show another side of the town.
My interest in photography empowers me to capture the moments in time that I enjoy.
I was able to retire early from the environmental career. It was an opportunity to transition from a technical and legal activity and to follow my creative instincts. It is now my intention to follow the light, to create and capture the moment in photography. Along the way, I have come across another avenue for a creative outlet. I am also creating web sites. This site is one of my endeavors.
