As eyes are said to be the windows of a man's soul, are lakes the windows onto the earth? But that raises the question: is the earth a living thing? Or, is it an inanimate object? My view is that Mother earth is a living thing. The earth shows activity: from volcanic eruptions deep within, hurricanes, tsunamis and earth quakes, to spinning as it travels through space. The earth is alive!
Lakes reflect the azure skies on calm days and mirror the view on the horizon.
